C programmers

So who here is actually proficient at C to a certain level (not necessarily too advanced, but not too basic)?

I've done some C/C++, and I have books on C/C++ programming.

Learned C at school. Had to write an address book in C for our project.

I really want to know C. I don't because
  • 1. I never herd of it before TTU changed code do C++
    2. i newer had the chance
    3. i don't know any schools or anything
    4. i 'prolly won't be any good at it anyways
Check back in 2 years :p

Do you know anywhere there is some introguide or someithing to C, and wath progs i need and so on? I guess there is helpfiles?

Yes I know C, no I won't work on OpenTTD.

But besides that, you will need programmers with quite advanced knowledge of C to make sense out of the code (ask a novice C programmer about bitfields for example). Not too mention the load of bitwise math it uses.

I took a C class in college long ago... didn't learn too much in it though :(

I'd love to give it a try... but don't count on my work being productive

My C skills are fairly decent (if I may say so).

I've been working on exactly the same thing (a recompiled binary), but I'm no where near as far along, so I'll be quite happy to ditch my work and pick this up instead. I'm probably going to spend some time getting a working Linux build going, and familiarising myself with the code.

I have used C to program a microprocessor, which means pure math and bit/byte manipulation.
I have also programmed a software/hardware interface to make it usefull.

However I'm not very good at graphics

And the very important factor: I don't know when I will be able to spend time on such a project. :(

Hello, I am reading these forums everyday and yesterday (or earlier? I don't remember that exactly) I found the openTTD project. I downloaded the files and... it's nice.

I would like to join the project. I am average in C/C++.
Some hours ago I tried to improve window management in openTTD which wasn't fitting for higher resolutions so well. Now I know that GUI code is very easy for me :) For example, I do that intro screen is centered, status bar (at bottom) is stretched along the bottom side and some dialogues are centered too...

So I am waiting for the real project start

(PS: If someone ask me, I'll post modified source somewhere at the openTTD topic)

Is it for the newest version?(from the "new release" topic) if yes then post it.
I already made bat files for higher reolutions.

Yes :)
But it's useful for newbies that only know how to use paint

Killer 11: Yes, this is for the newest. And the resolution bat might be useful, until someone (not me, because I don't know format of some cfgs that will be used...) will do saving settings like resolution etc. directly from the game. As I say, make a window for setting a resolution ISN'T a problem.

Okay, I am posting only files that I have changed.

Some small improvements... will continue :) (only modified files, look for new release thread for other files) and without compiled .exe :(

You have to replace the new files I think that is in the zip, then compile the game.
